Eczacıbaşı VitrA rises to the CEV Cup Finals

Repeating the powerful performance of its first match in its opponent’s court , Eczacıbaşı VitrA beat SSC Palmberg Schwerin 3-0 in the second leg of the 2018 CEV Cup semifinals, giving it a decisive victory and ticket to the CEV finals.

Strong offense and defense plays by Captain Jordan Larson carried Eczacıbaşı VitrA to a 25-18 win in the first set. In the second set, Boskovic and Meliha’s spikes and Rachael Adams’ blocks extinguished all attempts by the white and orange team’s opponent to recover, leading to a second win of 25-19 and a guaranteed place in the finals. In the third match, a change of players ensured a balanced game and third win for a decisive 3-0 victory.
With 15 points, Meliha İsmailoğlu was the lead scorer of the match, while Rachael Adams’ 6 blocks and 12 points played a critical role in the team’s triumph.

Eczacıbaşı VitrA’s opponent in the finals is Minchanka Minsk. The first leg of the finals will be played in the opponent’s court on 3 April and the second, at the Burhan Felek Volleyball Hall on 10 April.
